BOIL WATER AT BISHOP’S SCALE

posted in: Uncategorised | 0

We have had notice this afternoon that a tap water sample from Bishop’s Scale has failed for various bacteria and so our water is currently a potential danger to human health.

All WATER MUST BE BOILED before use.

You should boil water for:

∙ Drinking

∙ Cleaning teeth

∙ Preparing food (including ice cubes and salads)

∙ Preparing babies’ feeds and disinfecting feeding equipment

∙ Washing open wounds

Alternatively you should use bottled water.

Chris has gone to Bishop’s Scale this evening after work to put the necessary signs up by all taps.

According to South Lakeland District Council we are required to provide an alternative wholesome water supply. Chris will be putting some bottled water out this evening. However we are not in a position to keep a supply of bottled water available for hut users, so PLEASE TAKE ENOUGH BOTTLED WATER WITH YOU IF YOU GO TO BISHOPS SCALE.

The results indicate that our water treatment system is not working properly and we will take steps urgently to address this, and we will keep you informed of our progress. An email will be sent this evening to all ARCC members who have email. If you know members who do not use / read email please let them know about this. This information will also be posted on our website.

Sorry about this – we’ll sort it as soon as we can.
